Advertising Unlimited is a unique opportunity for anyone curious about working in the advertising industry — students and professionals of all disciplines and demographics. Advertising Unlimited replaces and improves upon Next Generation Day, an annual event held by the Institute of Communication Agencies since 2008. It is now a more inclusive, progressive initiative to better meet the needs of today’s job seeker considering or exploring careers in advertising and marketing communications.
Organized by the Institute of Communication Agencies (ICA), a not-for-profit association representing Canada’s advertising and marketing communications agencies, Advertising Unlimited takes place on January 30-31, 2018. The event is being hosted at leading agencies in major cities across Canada.
Advertising Unlimited wants to inspire you to consider an agency career. As unique as you are, there are roles in an agency for you. You can be in the Creative, UX/UI, IT, Development, Customer Management, Analytics, Planning, Research, HR, Finance, Marketing, PR. Moreover, your collaboration with the industry will expose participating agencies annually to a wider, more diverse assembly of skilled candidates/talent.
The event fosters learning and connection with top agency experts across Canada, provides experience a full day working in a busy local agency, and encourages relevant agency contacts that may lead to job leads, internships, or future employment. Whether you’re looking for an internship, a job after graduation, returning to work or changing careers, Advertising Unlimited is for you.
Advertising Unlimited has been designed to remove real and perceived barriers to entry to the advertising industry. As the world grows more diverse, so must the advertising industry. Advertising Unlimited is for those who are certain they want to work in advertising as well as those who never considered the industry before. Long gone are the days of Mad Men. The Canadian advertising industry is diverse and inclusive. Join us on January 31st and discover what advertising has to offer and how your unique skills, lived experience and diversity of thought could contribute to the industry.

Advertising Unlimited uses a process called blind hiring to reduce bias and increase workplace diversity. Agencies will only receive applicants answers to four questions. These questions will give the agencies a sense of who you are and why you are interested in visiting their agency during Advertising Unlimited.
The goal of blind hiring is to judge potential hires exclusively based on their abilities. No personal information such as age, race, education about the candidate is considered.
After a decade of successful Next Generation Day events, Advertising Unlimited has been shaped into a more inclusive, progressive initiative to better reflect the interest and diversity of talent interested in a career in advertising. We wanted to remoove as many barriers to entry into the advertising industry as possible. Hence we eliminated the registration fee and will be using blind hiring to select the participants.
